In return the brother also promises to take care of his sister and offers her gifts as a token of his love towards her..

Pradosh ( Evening) Time Raksha Bandhan Muhurat – 06:56 PM – 09:08 PM
it is important to note that Rakhi is not tied during Bhadra phase… some times in emergency cases one can tie Raksha sutra in Bhadra Punch time but it is never ties on Bhadra Mukh period.
It is believed that Surpnakha ( Ravan’s Sister) had tied Raksha Sutra on her brothers wrist in Bhadra Mukh time and that eventually led to their destruction.
