Wishing you all a very beautiful and fun filled Holi…!!..
Choti Holi falls on the 7th March 2023..followed by Rangwali Holi the next day i.e. on the 8th of march 2023 ..
Holika Dahan is done on Choti Holi day and is considered very significant in nullifying negative energies and blockages from one’s life. According to the legend,  it is believed that Bhakt Prahlad ( a devotee of Lord Vishnu) was humiliated time and again by his father – the demon king , Hiranyakashipu, who considered himself to be no less than God. His sister Holika had a boon from Lord of Fire that she will never get burnt in fire. Inspite of many attempts to kill Prahlad , when nothing happened then Hriyankashipu along with his sister planted to burn Prahlad in the pyre of woods. On the Full moon night , Holika with Prahlad on her lap sat on the pyre and the fire was lit but died in the flames of fire whereas Prahlad came out unscathed as all he did was kept chanting the name of Lord Vishnu.
Lighting the pyre of wood on Choti Holi is very auspicious as it helps in burning away all the negative energies of one’s life.
